PS WAGUNDA HOSTS KENYA TOURISM BOARD

The Principal Secretary for Public Investments and Assets Management Mr. Cyrell Wagunda this morning hosted the Board of Directors from Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) led by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ms. June Chepkemei who paid a courtesy visit at the Treasury Building, Nairobi.

The CEO apprised the PS on the various milestones the State Corporation has made within it's mandate of marketing Kenya as the home of human origin and as an all-year diverse, sustainable and authentic tourism destination.

She also presented an elaborate strategy they are pursuing to raise tourism revenue from the Sh500 billion made in 2025 to Sh1 trillion mark and also increasing international arrivals from 2.7m in 2025 to 5 million tourists per year.

Ms. Chepkemoi further made a broad presentation on the various marketing strategies KTB is adopting to showcase Kenya as a leading global tourism destination.

The PS thanked the Board for the ambitious target of crossing the Sh1 billion mark saying he remains committed to supporting KTB realise their obligation.

He implored them to embrace the newly rolled out Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) System to enhance transparency in all procurement processes.
