The Principal Secretary in the State Department for Public Investments and Assets Management (SDPIAM) Mr. Cyrell Wagunda today hosted the Managing Director of the Privatisation Authority Dr. Janerose Omondi who was accompanied by the leadership of both Nzoia Sugar Company and South Nyanza (Sony) Sugar Company Limited CPA Ezron Kotut and Mr. Martine Dima respectively.

The leaders briefed the PS on the various operations, milestones made, challenges facing the sugar sector and explored possible interventions.

The two firms are part of the newly created Government-Owned Enterprises (GOEs) under SDPIAM with an aim of making them more commercially self-sustaining.

The PS affirmed his continued support to make the two companies execute their mandate effectively and efficiently with a view of making the country sugar sufficient.
