The Government is leveraging Public- Private Partnership (PPP) for rapid infrastructure development, accelerated project delivery, economic growth and job creation.

This afternoon, Mr. Cyrell Wagunda the Principal Secretary for Public Investments and Assets Management attended hybrid PPP Committee meeting chaired by Dr. Chris Kiptoo, National Treasury Principal Secretary.

The PPP Committee deliberated on the status of various initiatives for development under the PPP framework such as, the Eldoret Solar-powered Street Lighting Upgrade Project, a flagship project spearheaded by Uasin Gishu County Governor Hon. Dr. Jonathan Bii. Remarkably, the project will utilise renewable energy for economic and environmental sustainability.

The meeting further discussed the establishment of The Biopharma Life Sciences Park at Konza Technopolis, a project designed to position Kenya as a regional biotechnology hub for pharmaceutical manufacturing and research.

The advancement of Konza Cloud Expansion & Smart City Facilities Project was also highlighted by the PPP Committee as a key project.

In attendance were other Committee Members Principal Secretaries Dr. Bonface Makokha (Economic Planning), Eng. Joseph Mbugua (Roads), Hon. Shadrack Mose, Solicitor General, Eng. Kefa Seda, Director General, PPP Directorate among others.
